I purchase the ULTIMAX DXTREME END-FED ANTENNA 160M to 6M 2KW 124 foot, in June 2024 and have noticed that many spots all over the US now are able to be reached. FT-8 now populates world wide and signals are strong. I compared to other end fed brands. And this one by far takes the prize

I purchased the shortest (33′) Ultimax DX Extreme because I’m in a rented townhome with an HOA, so I can’t drill holes in walls or put up an antenna outside. I have the antenna mounted inside in a “U” shape around three walls, up near the ceiling. (Yes, I’ve used the ARRL RF Exposure Calculator to make sure I’m safe.) So far I have confirmed contacts in 70 countries and 47/50 states! Does this antenna work? I’d say YES!!!! I can’t wait to move to where I can put a longer one up outside!

When I first graduated from UHF/VHF and started on my HF journey, I couldn’t justify buying a very expensive antenna and looked for an antenna that would serve me on all the HF bands. I read up and found that the Ultimax DXtreme 160 to 6 was very inexpensive and had a great reputation. I bought it in 2017 and installed it as a sloper running east and west. I used an inexpensive LDG tuner with my Icom 7100 and was immediately making world wide contacts. It was so good that when I began experimenting with verticals and dipoles, I could never find anything that matched the versatility of my Ultimax. This year after an extremely harsh winter my antenna began to fail and I found that the transformer box had slightly gapped at the seam and the antenna itself was beginning to shed its outer shield. I wrote Albert and asked him his advice on repair or replacement and he offered to repair the box at no cost if I bought a new antenna wire. I jumped at the generous offer and soon my wire arrived and shortly after I got a brand new transformer, not my old one repaired! Albert is probably the best representative of any company I’ve dealt with. His products are top notch. He personally responds to customer service issues quickly and is generous above and beyond in backing his products. I don’t think there is a more affordable, versatile and performing antenna available anywhere. I 110% endorse Albert’s company and products.

After months of experimenting with various “short” 75 meter antenna designs (both home brew and commercial) I was about ready to give up. Nothing worked well. I came to the conclusion that unless I had 130+ feet of wire in the air (and 130 feet off the ground) I would never be able to reasonably work 75 meters in a tight space, especially at higher power levels.
Then I contacted Albert at Ultimaxantennas.com and he suggest a 53 foot DXtreme End Fed. It sounded impossible but after installing it to his specifications I was shocked to see great SWR across multiple bands plus good RX & TX performance!
That DXtreme end fed outperformed all of my previous “short” 75 meter antennas by a factor of 100, plus it tuned well at multiple other freq’s too!

I paired the DXTREME-124 with 2 of the Ultimax Isolator and Elecraft Power Combo 500 watt amplifier. Without tuning the SWR was acceptable =<2.2:1 on all bands, most bands were well under 2.0 and the higher frequencies were nearly flat
I installed the antenna in a sloper config from 10ft up to 26ft facing SE off the end…. I am in Washington State so this was best for higher frequencies for domestic contacts, I will tell you that this is a global antenna that performs superb! The Isolators keep the RF out of my shack and I have never had an issue, I did also install the available counterpoise.
I don’t know what to say… my station “just works” now and is very reliable and consistent, handles all the power and adverse weather with ease (I live in the rainforest).
I completely recommend and endorse this antenna and the company, I also purchased the Ultimax-100 49ft for portable use and also highly recommend.
